Il y a urgence. Urgence de lire. Faites un don !
While millions of Ukrainians are fleeing the war, Libraries Without Borders takes action to put into place emergency solutions for the reception and integration of refugee populations. Libraries Without Borders is currently deploying Ideas Boxes on the borders of Ukraine and emergency libraries in reception and accommodation centres in Belgium, France and Italy.
The rapid deterioration of the security situation in Ukraine following the Russian war is leading to massive population displacements within the country and beyond its borders, mainly in Poland, in Hungary, in Moldova, in Slovakia and in Romania.
In the short term, the issues related to protection, orientation, information, and psychosocial support for refugees, mainly women and children, appear to be a priority alongside primary needs. In the medium term, the reception and integration of millions of refugees in European countries will be an immense challenge.
In this context, the Libraries Without Borders in Europe network – BSF Belgium, BSF France, BSF Italy and BSF Switzerland – is mobilising to deploy emergency reception and integration solutions for Ukrainian refugee populations.
In Belgium, our teams are working to set up emergency libraries and information points for refugees.

Let us act together!
In humanitarian crises and conflict situations, access to quality information becomes a vital necessity. Rumours and the spread of false information have devastating effects on already fragile populations. By creating secure information spaces, BSF allows refugees to make the right decisions at the most critical moments, in addition to offering families, especially children, a moment of relief in the midst of hardship.
To implement our entire action plan, we need €200,000. To help finance this action plan, you can act now!
